Christmas Part 3: The Day He Finally Arrived!
A little triple entendre to start of this blog in the title! Christmas day FINALLY arrived with joy, laughter, and the arrival of a few special guys in our lives.
First of all, it was finally Jesus' birthday! They've been working with my nieces for the entire month of December to get them to finally understand that Christmas day is actually Jesus' birthday! So we had a great round of "Happy Birthday" for the baby Jesus and then followed with a delicious cake in honor of his birthday!
Then, it was finally the day that Santa had made his special delivery! And boy, did he deliver!!! See below for great examples.
Last but not least, Josh had to stay behind when I flew out to for Christmas due to a snow storm. Now I'm all about a white Christmas back in the midwest, but not at the expense of missing out on Christmas with the hubs. Lucky me, and all of us, Josh caught the first flight out on Christmas day and was with us by 10 a.m.! Made my Christmas wish come true...what a guy (insert dreamy sigh here).
On with the lovely montage of Christmas day photos! My favorite time of the year for many reasons and these images capture them perfectly!
Jackpot! I know a few little girls who were awfully good this year!

We forgot to leave Santa a note to ask him to take off his shoes! Looks like he ended up in a little snow before coming in!

Emmie's first Christmas and loving the idea of new things, but a little over-stimulated at first!

Yay for new books! And the new Belle dress courtesy of Grammy.

Jesus' birthday cake!

Candyland...contemplating her next move. Funny enough, she won fair and square!

Now sporting our Little Mermaid outfit and reading...again...with Grammy.

I hope you all had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did! We are so blessed.

Christmas Part 2: Pre-Christmas Activities! [Personal]
We had so much fun getting ready for Christmas at my sister's. A small documentary follows of the what we do prior to the BEST holiday of the year!
We count down with ZEAL!

Cookie baking! We must, must, must leave cookies for Santa. So we must bake prior to the big night.

Sure hope Santa likes sprinkles! Maddie does!

Emma getting in on the baking action.

We learned that Christmas is not just about receiving, but also about giving! Emma + Maddie exchanged gift on Christmas Eve morning.

Thomas stayed with my nieces this Christmas season to remind them to be good all year! And he left a special note on Christmas Eve!

Church + Christmas Eve pictures. Might I add at church, as we were walking in, Maddie spotted a Dominican priest who was dressed in white robe. She exclaimed, "Is that Jesus!?". How could you not laugh!

And a little story just before we go to bed!

Off to bed and more to come on the Christmas morning excitement!

Christmas Part 1: Shine Your Light For All To See [Personal]
Just starting to blog about the holidays and sift through the hundreds of pictures! A few more posts to come about our time out west a little later.
I thought I'd dedicate this post to the beautiful light of Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake. We enjoyed an evening there the day after Christmas braving the cold and seeing the beauty!
