One of the greatest joys of taking up photography has been capturing such great memories of our family! I'm a little bit partial, but these are two of the cutest kids ever to come from Kirksville and they just happen to be my niece and nephew! More to come on this fun afternoon! You have to love it when you meet good people...there's nothing better than enjoying an afternoon capturing them just the way they are. What a relaxed afternoon it was and the perfect weather (not too terribly cold for Texans)! I'm so glad we were able to get together while they were all in town! Part 1: Kirby, Jacob + Kelly [Children's Photographer]

I have so many favorites from this session that I'm going to have to split this up into two!

Last weekend I was able to enjoy some time at home. And big bonus--got to spend some time with one of the great families from my hometown. I'm so fond of these pictures for so many reasons, but mainly, because it takes me back to my childhood and what it was like growing up in the country!

All three of them to start!


Kirby is a science wiz and quite the athlete...which is no surprise knowing both of her parents! This girl is going places!




Jacob is such a gentleman! Already taking care of things on the farm and lends quite the helping hand when needed in the fields! He loves math and is a huge Notre Dame fan! I can't get down with the math part, but I'm game for anyone who likes ND!




Kelly is such a ham! She keeps everyone on their toes and she loves to make things at school. She asked me if she looked like a "farm girl" in her jacket--my response--she's a total farm girl!








I dare you...try not to smile when looking at this picture!




Can't take any credit for this idea! It was all Kirby's...such a great tree and a great shot!

Sneak Peek: Jacob, Kirby + Kelly [Family Photographer]

I had the time of my life yesterday with this AWESOME family! There's no place like home, and that's where I found myself this weekend--in farm country. I headed over to Heather and Don's house to meet Jacob, Kirby + Kelly and then we set out to their family farm. We couldn't have asked for a better evening and a better setting. And I'm a country girl at heart so this session took me back to where I belong.
