Sneak Peek: Ayva + Cayden [St. Louis Family Photographer]

I can't believe how big these two are...and was over the moon to be able to get to spend some time in Forest Park with them and their mom Lindsey!

More to come soon! But for now enjoy these great pictures from a beautiful day! Thanks Lindsey, Ayva + Cayden!

It's Raining...In Case You Hadn't Noticed [Personal]

Just in case you hadn't noticed, it's raining. And it's been raining for almost a week straight. My husband reminds me of this multiple times a day....maybe it's because his work is all outdoors...none-the-less, I know it's raining.

I guess it's one of those weeks where it needed to rain. And after the tornadoes here in St. Louis, I feel horrible even saying that as the clean-up efforts continue. But when I was a kid, I used to think that it rained because God was sad in heaven--obviously right? The raindrops certainly reflected His mood so He must be sad. Made sense at such a young age. Now that I'm older and wiser (well...maybe just older), I still think that maybe there just might be a correlation between the two. And my heart is definitely sad this week after seeing the destruction of the tornadoes and hearing about the loss of a life too young.

The sun will shine again and a new day will dawn tomorrow. My heart is sad today, but tomorrow it will get a little bit better. Tonight I think I'll cuddle with my husband a little longer. Tomorrow I'll make sure to blow my sweet nieces a few kisses and stay on the phone just a touch longer with my mom...all because tomorrow is a new day and that's just life my friends.

Sneak Peek: The Whole Gang! [St. Louis Family Photographer]

This picture seals the deal and IS what it's all about. After a frightful night of tornadoes landing a little too close to home, it was a joy to spend the afternoon with this family who gathered for Papa's big birthday!

It certainly puts things in perspective doesn't it? Things are just things and can be replaced.

I'm feeling ever so blessed this day before Easter Sunday...and even more blessed to have spent the day with such a wonderful family.

Happy Easter!

Jenn's Maternity Session [St. Louis Family Photographer]

I just love the anticipation of a maternity shoot! The waiting has almost come to an end for Jenn, Adam + Ollie and we can't wait till this little guy arrives in mid-May!

And the best part about this shoot? The fact that I get to meet my new nephew in just a few short weeks and do a newborn shoot!!

Personal: Lucky [St. Louis Photographer]

I stole this title from a fellow photographer of mine for my post. Only because I think it speaks the truth. I'm in awe and humbled by the talent I'm surrounded by in Shutterclub--photographers gathered from all over parts of St. Louis. We took a beautiful day this weekend and enjoyed the weather by scouting out a few new locations. I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful group! They've changed my perspective on life.

Scouting also got me a little out of my comfort zone as I was shooting more than just people and I stuck to my 50mm only! AH! No zoom...which means I had to use my feet as my zoom.

We started in a very industrial area of downtown St. Louis

Newborn Session: Makenzie [St. Louis Children's Photographer]

I just can't get enough of this sweetness! After Makenzie got home from the hospital, I ran over to her house for a morning of fun. According to her mom I really wore her out. She was out for the rest of the day...but you know it's hard being this pretty!

So...on with the cuteness!I think we might have some baby blues!
